  • "Allow three days for long trips eg, Christchurch to Auckland during warmer months, buy this car knowing these batteries are passively cooled meaning they can absorb and deliver only so much power in a 24 hour period and after about 450km of driving the charge rates will begin to reduce to protect the battery. Next morning your good to go again. Drive carefully and you can go anywhere in NZ. Amazing performance and the pro pilot cruise control is brilliant in highway traffic once you develop confidence with it. Bang for buck...10/10."

  • "The 2017 Leaf is a very good car for journeys upto 200 km leaving a margin for safety. For longer trips allow a extra hour per 200 km for rapid charging at charging stations shown on an app assuming they are not in use. It is worthwhile getting a wired in charging station at home so that one is not tempted to leave the portable cable at home which could leave one stranded in an emergency. Also Iwhen charging make sure it is plugged in properly and the catch clicks. When new the fitting can be a tight fit. The electrician who wired my home charger in recommended that this can be eased with judicious use of a silicon lubricant. The car seems to handle very well and does have exceptional acceleration."
