We drove with 5 people one time and it did not even sound like it had a hard time, meaning it just drives normally like it use to, unlike other hatchback cars that i've driven before if full passengers (5) you can feel that the engine is struggling specially when climbing, but my new GTI you almost can't hear the engine sound, very very smooth ride."
